KAKO LAHKO UREDIŠ SVOJE PRVO NAJETO STANOVANJE, DA BO MALO BOLJ PRIVLAČNO // HOW TO MAKE YOUR FIRST RENTAL APARTMENT MORE ATTRACTIVE

SLO | Včasih se ti v življenje malo zasuka, izgubiš ravnotežje in včasih padeš. Počakati moraš, da se ti neha vrteti, da se lahko spet pobereš in nadaljuješ svojo pot. V vsej zmešnjavi, ki se je dogajala v preteklih mesecih, sem blog enostavno morala dati malo na stran. Ena izmed stvari, ki so se zgodile pa je selitev - no, ta je ena izmed pozitivnih. :) Če spremljaš moj Instagram in Facebook stran, to zagotovo že veš. Selitev ni bila načrtovana, saj trenutna ponudba najemniških stanovanj v Ljubljani ni preveč lepa in nisem niti imela namena iskati kaj novega. Višine najemnin (vsaj v Ljubljani, ker drugih ne spremljam) so skočile v nebo!

ENG | Life can be challenging sometimes, it spins you around, you lost your balance and sometimes you fall. Then you have to wait that the spinning in your head stops, so you can get up and continue with your life. Because of all the craziness that has been happening in the past few months, I just had to put my blog on a side. Moving to a new apartment is one of the good things that has happened. :) But if you're following my Instagram or my Facebook page, you already know that. It wasn't planned either, because it's really hard to find a nice apartment for rent in Ljubljana at the moment (for a reasonable price). The rents are going through the roof!

SLO | O najemniških stanovanjih, ponudbi in oglasih bi se lahko še pa še razpisala, zato bom to temo pustila za kdaj drugič. Tokrat sem želela s tabo deliti fotografije stanovanja v katerem sem še pred kratkim živela - kakšno je bilo videti ob vselitvi in kakšno je bilo potem, ko sem ga malo uredila. Zakaj to delim? Ker vem v kakšnem stanju je večina (ugodnih) stanovanj, ki se oddajajo in zato ker je videz stanovanja pomemben pri odločitvi ali ga bomo najeli ali ne. Stanovanja, ki nam niso všeč ali celo nimajo fotografij preskočimo in iščemo tisto lepo, svetlo in zračno stanovanje, ki bo prijazno tudi do našega žepa. Žal so taka zelo redka, zato se večkrat znajdemo v situaciji, ko moramo gledati v prvi vrsti na ceno in najamemo stanovanje, ki ni najbolj po našem okusu. Tudi stanovanje v katerem sem prej živela ni bilo preveč po mojem okusu, zato sem s tabo želela deliti kaj sem naredila, da mi je postalo bolj všeč in da sem se v njem počutila bolj domače. Verjemi, če bi bilo moje, bi bilo opremljeno popolnoma drugače, ko pa razpolagaš s tem kar imaš in ne želiš preveč zapraviti, pa nastane to... :)

ENG | I'll leave the topic about the situation on our real estate market for some other time and I will focus on our topic now. I want to share some photos of our former apartment with you. How it looked when we first moved in and how It looked after I've rearranged it. Why am I sharing this? Because I know how mostly of the apartments for rent looks like. The appearance of the apartment is very important when it comes time to decide are you going to rent it or not? To be honest, I always skip ads with no photos or with photos of a "not so nice" apartment. We are all looking for that nice, light new home that is big enough and also friendly for our pocket. Unfortunately, apartments like that are rare and often we find ourselves in a situation when we want to save some money and the price is more important that the apparance. The apartment when we used to live wasn't the most beautiful one either, so I wanted to share with you what I did to make it more attractive and homey. Believe me, If it has been mine, I would decorate it completely different, but when you have to use as much what you have and you don't want to invest all your money in someone else's apartment, this is what you get... :)

1. ODSTRANI POHIŠTVO, KI GA NE POTREBUJEŠ

SLO | Najprej se dogovori z lastnikom kaj lahko storiš s kosi, ki jih ne potrebuješ. Nekateri jih sami odnesejo, drugi rečejo, da lahko zavržeš kar ne potrebuješ (ker je pohištvo že tako staro in jim je res vseeno), tretji pa bi najraje videli, da ne narediš ničesar, zato je super, da imaš v takem primeru klet ali shrambo, kamor lahko manjše kose pohištva začasno pospraviš in ko se odseliš jih postaviš nazaj na svoje mesto (pazi na to, da jih ne poškoduješ). Tako je bilo v našem primeru. V stanovanju ni bilo veliko pohištva, zato tudi nisem imela težav z odvečnimi kosi. Sem pa v klet odnesla omarico za čevlje (na fotografiji zgoraj levo), ker ni bila praktična, čez čas pa tudi jedilno mizo, ker sva kupila večjo.

1. REMOVE THE FURNITURE YOU DON'T NEED

ENG | Firstly, you should talk to the landlord what can you do with the furniture you don't need. Some of them will remove it by themselves, some of them will tell you to throw it away (because that table is so old anyway) and some of them prefer you to do nothing. In that case is great if you have a basement or a storage room where you can store smaller pieces of furniture, so you can put them back before you move out. That has happened in our situation. (Just be careful you don't do any demage.) There wasn't much furniture in our small apartment, so I didn't have any problems with unnecessary furniture. I put away a shoe cabinet (on a left picture above), because it wasn't practical and over time, I put away the dining table too, because we bought a bigger one.

2. PREBARVAJ STENE

SLO | ...če imaš možnost in denar. Barva sten zelo vpliva na videz prostora in naše počutje. Če je stanovanje majhno, je najboljše, da so stane v prostoru bele oz. čim bolj svetle, da prostor optično povečajo. Prva stvar, ki me je zmotila v stanovanju so bile rumene stene v kombinaciji z oranžnimi rolo zavesami. Joj, vsakič, ko sem zavese zastrla, sem se počutila kot v pečici. Še posebej je prišlo to "lepo" do izraza na kakšen lep sončen dan. Imela sem veliko željo prebeliti, ampak nisem želela brez potrebe vlagati v stanovanje v katerem ne bom dolgo ostala.

2. PAINT THE WALLS

ENG | ...if it's possible and you have some extra money to buy the paint. The colour of the walls has a huge impact on the final room appearance and also on our mood. If your apartment is small, is the best to keep your walls white or as light as possible. Light walls will make your room look bigger. The thing that has bothered me the most was a yellow colour on the walls in a combination with orange roller shades. Oh my, I felt like I was in an oven every time I pulled the shades down. I wanted to paint the walls so badly, but I didn't want to invest too much in an apartment where I wasn't planning to stay for long.

3. PREMAKNI POHIŠTVO

SLO | Včasih že s premikom omare, postelje in/ali jedilne mize... dosežeš veliko spremembo. Jaz sem premaknila vse kar se je dalo. Kot lahko vidiš spodaj v tlorisu, sta bili jedilnica in kuhinja prvotno v enem prostoru, ampak je bil jedilni kot v napoto in vsekakor premajhen, zato je jedilnica postala del sobe. Motila me je tudi postavitev omare ob oknu, ker je zmanjšala najsvetlejši del sobe. Premaknila sem jo v kot, kjer je bila prvotno postelja, posteljo pa obrnila tako, da je bila dostopna iz obeh strani in je gledala proti televiziji.

3. MOVE THE FURNITURE

ENG | Sometimes you can make a big difference just by moving some furniture - a closet, a bed and/or a dining table- to the other spot. I moved all the furniture that I could. As you can see on the plan below, the dining area and the kitchen were originally in the same room, but the dining area was too small. The table was in the way, so I moved it and dining area became a part of the main room. I didn't like the position of the closet either. The position next to the window, made the lightest part of the room smaller. I found a better place for it - in the corner of the room, where the bed was before and I turned the bed around and moved it a little bit towards the middle of the room so it was accessible from both sides and looked towards the television.

4. DEKORACIJA ZA DOM

SLO | Prostoru dodaj svoj pečat z različnimi dodatki za dom po svojem okusu. Posteljnina, okrasne blazine in odeje bodo popestrile posteljo in/ali zofo. Na steno obesi kakšno fotografijo, sliko ali pa mogoče zanimivo uro. ;) Take stvari lahko ob selitvi enostavno uporabiš v novem domu.

Ker je bilo stanovanje majhno in že obarvano v rumeno, sem iskala dodatke v nevtralnih barvah, predvsem v beli. Postelja predstavlja veliko (barvno) površino v tako majhnem prostoru, zato bo imela barva posteljnine velik vpliv na celoten videz. Iskala sem belo, da še dodatno osvetlim prostor in našla te s packami. Dodaj kakšno sobno rastlino, svečo, vazo...po svojem okusu, ampak pazi, da se barvno  in stilsko skladajo. In jaz verjamem v to, da manj je več, zato ne pretiravaj :)

4. HOME DECOR

ENG | Add your mark to the room by using different home decorations. Bed linen, cushions and blankets will spice up the bed or/and sofa. Hang some photos, a painting or maybe an interesting clock on a wall. ;) Whenever you decide to move out, you can easily pack your decorations and use them in your new home.

Because the apartment was small and there were yellow walls in the room, I've been looking for home decor items in white and neutral colours. The bed area represents a large (colour) surface in such a small space, therefore the colour of the bed linen will also have a big impact on the overall appearance. I wanted a white one to brighten the room and I found this one with spots or how do you call that - smudges maybe? Add an indoor plant, a candle, a vase... but be careful, be consistent with the style and colour. Also, I believe that less is more, so don't go overboard. :)
