Upcikliranje - otroški naslanjač // Upcycling - children's armchair | DIY

SLO|

I've been checking out children's armchairs for some time now. They are so cute and you can really find it in every colour and shape.. But firstly I asked myself, is a children's armchair really a piece of furniture that a toddler would use? It would be a shame to buy it just to collect dust on it and also, it would only take up space in our apartment.

I decided to make it myself. Because, why not! I haven't been creating and crafting for a really long time and I've missed that feeling so much. I decided to upcycle. Currently, it's difficult to buy all the  materials and it's fun for me (and nature-friendly), when I can use old things and things I don't need to make something new.

I made the base out of pieces of XPS boars (previously they were used as a play house, but the house started to fall apart), 1 old pillow, old sheets and clothes we don't need anymore. I glued the pieces of XPS boards with hot glue and I used different screws to fix the pillow and textile to the base. To make the armchair prettier, I used four burp cloths (60x60cm) to make a detachable cover. The sewing lasted a little bit longer, because I don't have a sewing machine, but hand sewing was surprisingly relaxing for me.
Check the process and more photos of the final result below. :)
